Computational Research Laboratories Limited (CRL); a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Limited, maintains a state-of-the-art High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure (more colloquially, a ‘cluster’). CRL has been specially set up to achieve global leadership in the field of High Performance Computing (HPC). Traditionally, scientific and engineering R&D has been built on two pillars; theory and experiments. With the availability of substantial computational power, a new dimension has been added - simulations. With globalization, to “analyze the future”, there is an immense pressure on corporations and institutions to reduce development costs and shrink development life cycles. HPC offers the perfect solution to these pain points. However, the dominant species of HPC system could have a dampening effect if it is not handled adequately.
